Unseeded Vondrousova stuns Jabeur to win Wimbledon Final
Marketa Vondrousova made history on Saturday in the women's Wimbledon final.
Marketa Vondrousova defeated 2022 runner-up Ons Jabeur to win her maiden Grand Slam title in historic fashion.
Marketa Vondrousova defeats Ons Jabeur 6-4, 6-4 Women's Wimbledon Final.
Vondrousova became the lowest-ranked winner and the first unseeded woman to capture the Wimbledon title.
The 24-year-old Vondrousova, ranked No. 42 in the world, was the first unseeded woman to reach the Wimbledon final in 60 years.
Vondrousova made it to the final of the French Open in 2019 at the age of 19 but lost in straight sets to Ashleigh Barty.
Vondrousova's run to capture the Wimbledon title was impossible, as she did not enter the event with the best track record at the All England Club.
Vondrousova was just 1-4 in her previous appearances at Wimbledon before her 7-0 run at the Championships this year.
