Transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney wins Woman of the Year award

Transgender activist and influencer Dylan Mulvaney recently won the Woman of the Year award from a British magazine.

In a post on Twitter on Wednesday, Attitude magazine, with the support of @VirginAtlantic, named Dylan Mulvaney its Woman of the Year.

"Knowing that my community sees me this way and accepts my womanhood gives me all I need to keep moving forward," Mulvaney said.

Video on social media captured Mulvaney giving a speech after receiving the award.

During her speech, she shared her journey, saying, “I am so honored to be here with all of you tonight.

Some see me as woman of the year, some see me as woman of the year...as if I had just come out publicly online 560 days ago."

Mulvaney acknowledged the challenges she faced, noting, "Some people don't see me as a woman at all.

That's why it means so much to me to receive this honor from a queer publication like Attitude."
