"The Idea of You": Anne Hathaway's Romantic Comedy Premieres at SXSW, Heads to Prime Video May 2nd

Amazon MGM Studios recently revealed that the romantic comedy "The Idea of You" is set to have its world premiere on March 16, serving as the closing feature for the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival.

Adapted from the Robinne Lee novel of the same name, the film is directed by Michael Showalter, who co-wrote it alongside Jennifer Westfeldt.

Anne Hathaway takes on the role of Solène, a 40-year-old single mom, while Nicholas Galitzine portrays Hayes Campbell, the 24-year-old lead singer of the popular boy band, August Moon.

The storyline unfolds as Solène, responsible for chaperoning her daughter's Coachella Music Festival trip after her ex cancels, encounters Hayes.

An instant spark leads to a whirlwind romance, yet they face challenges associated with Hayes' superstar status.

As Solène and Hayes navigate their relationship, the film explores the unexpected challenges that arise due to Hayes' fame and the spotlight it brings.

Alongside Hathaway and Galitzine, the ensemble cast includes Ella Rubin, Reid Scott, Annie Mumolo, Viktor White, Raymond Cham, Jaiden Anthony, and Dakota Adan.

SXSW is scheduled to run from March 8-16 in Austin, Texas, with "The Idea of You" chosen as the closing night feature.
