Pedro Pascal in Talks to Lead Marvel's 'Fantastic Four' as Reed Richards: A New Chapter for the Superhero Franchise

Pedro Pascal, known for his breakout role as Prince Oberyn Martell in "Game of Thrones" and as the lead in "The Mandalorian," is reportedly in negotiations to portray Reed Richards in Marvel Studios' upcoming "Fantastic Four" movie.

Pascal's potential casting as the leader of the superhero group was reported by Deadline.

Having previously worked with Disney as the lead in "The Mandalorian," Pascal's association with Marvel Studios' parent company adds weight to this potential casting.

Matt Shakman, known for directing "WandaVision" is set to helm the "Fantastic Four" movie.

He joined the project following the departure of Jon Watts known for the "Spider-Man" trilogy.

The movie is scheduled for release in US theaters on May 2, 2025.

Marvel Studios obtained the cinematic rights for Fantastic Four after the property had previously been adapted three times by 20th Century Fox.

The Fantastic Four debuted in Marvel Comics in 1961 with The Fantastic Four #1 created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee.

The superhero team includes Reed Richards (Mister Fantastic), Sue Storm-Richards (Invisible Woman), Johnny Storm (Human Torch) and Ben Grimm (The Thing).
