French filmmaker Justine Truitt has become the third woman to take home the top honor at the Cannes Film Festival.

The 76th Cannes Film Festival closed on Saturday after "Anatomy of a Fall" was awarded the Palme d'Or.

Triott is the third woman to win the Palme Award, after Julia Ducournau won for "Titan" in 2021 and Jane Campion in 1993 for "The Piano."

The Palme was presented to Truitt by Jane Fonda and noted a "historic" number of women.

The Grand Prix runner-up prize was awarded to "The Zone of Interest".
