'Madame Web' trailer starring Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney first lady superhero movie

The Spider-Verse is set to grow with the introduction of 'Madame Web' in 2024, as unveiled in the recently launched trailer.

This upcoming film focuses on Cassandra Web, aka Madame Web portrayed by Dakota Johnson and Julia Carpenter known as Spider-Woman and played by Sydney Sweeney.

The trailer hints at the arrival of more Spider-Verse characters, potentially due to Madame Web's psychic powers, which predict the appearance of three other Spider-People.

This teaser suggests a possible setup for a future team-up movie.

'Madame Web' is scheduled for release in February 2024. Despite being labeled as a "standalone origin story," the film is intricately connected to the Spider-Man cinematic universe.

It focuses on Madame Web's clairvoyant abilities and her ties to various Spider-Women from comic lore presenting a narrative set before her iconic wheelchair-bound depiction in the comics.

Alongside Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney the film features Emma Roberts, Celeste O'Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Adam Scott, Zosia Mamet and Mike Epps. SJ Clarkson directs the film with the script penned by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama.

Sydney Sweeney notable for her role in 'Euphoria,' expressed her enthusiasm for the project.

She shared her excitement about joining a cast of "badass females" and highlighted how superhero films have held significance in her life.
