Lana Del Rey Ropes in Country Vibes with Upcoming Album 'Lasso'

Lana Del Rey is changing her musical style, venturing into country music with her upcoming album, "Lasso," scheduled for release in September.

Del Rey disclosed her shift in musical direction at the Billboard and NMPA Songwriter Awards in Los Angeles on January 31.

The singer collaborated with producer Jack Antonoff, exploring locations like Muscle Shoals, Nashville and Mississippi over the past four years to craft the country-inspired sound of "Lasso."

Del Rey acknowledged Jack Antonoff's potential third consecutive Grammy win for Producer of the Year during the announcement.

"Lasso" will be Lana Del Rey's 10th studio LP, following her 2023 album, "Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd," which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Del Rey recalled her first meeting with Antonoff at a 2018 pre-Grammy party, shortly after a breakup.

Their instant friendship turned into a productive musical partnership.

Five songs for the upcoming album were created in a single day, emphasizing Antonoff's talent with timeless chord progressions and unique instincts.
