Julia Roberts and Mahershala Ali star film Leave World Behind premieres dec. 8

The film stars Julia Roberts as Amanda, Ethan Hawke as Clay, Mahershala Ali as G.H. and Myhala played the role of Ruth.

The story centers around Amanda and Clay, who rent a luxurious house for a weekend getaway with their children, Archie and Rose.

The story of the film is based on Amanda and Clay as they go on vacation with their children.

However, their peaceful getaway is interrupted when two strangers, G.H. and his daughter Ruth arrive at the rented property.

These newcomers receive news of a mysterious cyberattack and insist that the house is theirs. As an impending disaster looms.

Both families must fight to maintain their place in a world that is rapidly collapsing.

Barack and Michelle Obama are executive producers of the film. Notably, Barack Obama provided script notes to director Rami Malek.

Director Esmail noted that Obama's insight given his unique experience helped the story be a more realistic portrayal of how such events could unfold.

“Leave the World Behind” will make its AFI Fest debut and have a theatrical release on November 22, with streaming availability on Netflix beginning December 8.
