hyundai kia recall vehicles due to increased fire risk
Hyundai Motor Co. and its smaller subsidiary Kia Corp. made a very important decision.
on Friday said they would recall more than 570,000 vehicles in the United States because the vehicles could pose a fire hazard.
The South Korean carmakers have submitted their recall reports to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The carmaker said a faulty tow hitch harness module in specified vehicles could inhale water or dust.
Vehicles may experience power outages, which increases the risk of fire.
Affected vehicles are model year 2022-2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz, 2019-2023 Hyundai Santa Fe, 2021-2023 Santa Fe Hybrid, 2022-2023 Santa Fe Plug-in Hybrid and 2022-2023 Kia Carnival minivan.
Hyundai and Kia advised owners of these models to park outside and away from their homes and other structures until the problem is resolved.
