‘Barbie’ Banned for damaging morals in Algeria

Algerian authorities have pulled the film Barbie from local cinemas because of its "negative morals".

The Barbie film had been a success since its opening three weeks earlier, attracting an estimated 40,000 visitors.

According to local programming, it is no longer shown in the country's main cinemas following a request by the Ministry of Culture to withdraw it.
