"Back to Black": Teaser Trailer Released for Amy Winehouse Biopic Starring Marisa Abela
Producers StudioCanal and Monumental Pictures have unveiled the first teaser trailer for the highly-anticipated music biopic "Back to Black," centered on the late Amy Winehouse.
Marisa Abela portrays Winehouse, with director Sam Taylor-Johnson at the helm.
The film is set to premiere in the UK and Ireland on April 12, followed by a U.S. release by Focus Features on May 10.
Penned by Matt Greenhalgh, the biopic gained support from The Amy Winehouse Estate, Universal Music Group, and Sony Music Publishing.
It will showcase Winehouse's hit songs, including "Rehab," "Valerie," and "Love is a Losing Game."
The narrative delves into Winehouse's early life in London, her ascent to stardom, and the creation of her influential studio album, "Back to Black."
The cast includes Marisa Abela as Amy Winehouse, Jack O’Connell as her ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil, Eddie Marsan and Juliet Cowan as Amy’s parents, and Lesley Manville as Amy’s grandmother.
Monumental Pictures, led by producers Alison Owen and Debra Hayward, is overseeing the project.
