The United States Tennis Association said on Thursday that Nick Kyrgios has pulled out of the US Open.
The Australian continues to recuperate from ankle and wrist injuries and has been limited to one tournament this season.
The 28-year-old underwent surgery on his left knee at the beginning of the year and took five months off.
Nick Kyrgios lost in the first round of the Stuttgart Open in June to Wu Yibing of China.
Kyrgios missed the French Open due to a leg injury sustained during the theft of his car.
Kyrgios, 28, pulled out of Wimbledon due to a wrist problem.
Germany’s Jan-Lennard Struff has also pulled out of the US Open, the USTA said in a statement.
Argentina’s Facundo Diaz Acosta and Diego Schwartzman have entered the main draw due to their withdrawal.
The final Grand Slam of this season will run from 28 August to 10 September.
