Sha’Carri Richardson wins 100m in Doha Diamond League
Sha’Carri Richardson is again one of the fastest women in the world.
Richardson clocked 10.76 seconds in the prestigious Doha Diamond League on Friday.
Which has been achieved by a woman in running the fastest time in the world this year.
Richardson earned the first place, marking the biggest international win.
“I’ve found my calmness back on track. I won’t let anything take it from me,” Richardson said via NBC Sports.
The race field at the Doha Diamond League included four American women.
This included Melissa Jefferson, the 2022 US champion in the 100m. He finished seventh.
Champion Richardson was followed by Sherica Jackson of Jamaica and Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith in third place.
In addition, both Jackson and Asher-Smith are recent 200m world champions.
Richardson has made a comeback after two years, she said in an interview before Doha that I am not coming back, I am doing it better.
The 2024 Paris Olympics is a little over a year away and we will see Richardson in Paris. Before that, she will focus on the USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships in July. The only way for Richardson to qualify for the 100m at the World Championships in August is to finish in the top three.
