Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Subjected to Christmas ‘Swatting’ Attempt
Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene stated she was “swatted” on Christmas Day while at home in Georgia with her family. Police were dispatched to her residence following a false crime report. Greene mentioned it was the eighth time such an incident had occurred. She expressed gratitude for the local police but did not specify the reported crime or the police department involved.
Greene referenced a recent death threat she received on social media, sharing screenshots of threatening messages. One threat mentioned being shot in the head and compared her to a notorious killer who made items from victims’ skin. The Rome City Police Department stated they responded to a call through a local suicide hotline but confirmed no emergency upon contacting Greene’s security detail.
Greene also shared an email from the U.S. Capitol Police about the threats, including the suspect’s responses to questioning. Representatives for the U.S. Capitol Police did not comment on the matter when approached by the Washington Examiner.
