Patrick Dempsey Named PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive 2023: A Journey of Recognition and Philanthropy
PEOPLE magazine has named this year’s Sexiest Man Alive and the title goes to none other than Patrick Dempsey known for his iconic role as Derek Shepherd on the TV series Grey’s Anatomy.
Patrick Dempsey at the age of 57, has earned this prestigious title marking a remarkable moment in his career that spans over 30 years in Hollywood. He expressed his appreciation for the recognition, stating, “I’m glad it’s happening at this point in my life. It’s nice to have the recognition and certainly my ego takes a little bump but it gives me the platform to use it for something positive.”
Dempsey now joins the esteemed ranks of past Sexiest Men Alive, including Chris Evans, last year’s recipient as well as (Paul Rudd, Michael B. Jordan, Brad Pitt, John Legend, Idris Elba, Chris Hemsworth and Channing Tatum, George Clooney).
In addition to this honor, Patrick Dempsey is making a return to the big screen in the Michael Mann-directed biopic “Ferrari,” in which he portrays Piero Taruffi an Italian Formula One driver. Dempsey’s pursuit of this role highlights his belief that if you truly desire something, you must take initiative and make it happen.
Beyond his acting career, Dempsey, who is a husband and a father of three has founded the Dempsey Center. This organization, established in memory of his late mother provides support to cancer patients and their families.
In a lighthearted comment about his latest achievement, Dempsey quipped, “I’ve got the bumper stickers, T-shirts, posters.”
