Jisoo of K-pop group Blackpink has become the last member to debut solo with his EP “ME”, released on Friday.
Since debuting in 2016, Blackpink has now become one of the biggest girl groups in the world,
Jisoo holds the record for having the most subscribers as an artist on YouTube.
The media reported this week that the group will make a joint performance with pop star Lady Gaga at a state dinner.
US President Joe Biden will host South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol in April.
Blackpink’s agency YG Entertainment said it is reviewing the offer, although the president’s office denied the reports on Friday.
Jisoo told fans in an online news conference. Before that she was not nervous about making a solo debut.
Jennie released her first solo work in 2018 as a member of Blackpink. Rose and Lisa will make their solo debut in 2021.
Blackpink’s group went on the “Born Pink” world tour in Seoul in October, which is scheduled to continue until June.
YG Entertainment reported that pre-orders for Jisoo’s debut album have surpassed 1.31 million copies as of Thursday.
Earlier this month, the K-pop superstar became the most streamed female band on the streaming app Spotify, according to Guinness World Records.
Guinness World Records stated that their songs had 8,880,030,049 individual streams, surpassing British pop group Little Mix.
