Jessie J Opens Up About Dietary Changes Post-Miscarriage and Motherhood
Jessie J recently shared insights into her dietary changes following a heartbreaking miscarriage in November 2021. The 35-year-old singer revealed the devastating news on Instagram just before a performance in Los Angeles, using her music to cope with the grief. She disclosed the tragic discovery during her third scan, where she was informed of the loss.
However, in May 2023, Jessie J welcomed a healthy baby boy, Sonny, describing the experience as life-altering and providing a new sense of purpose. Now, the pop star expresses her desire to return to a vegan diet, something she followed during her first pregnancy and afterward.
Reflecting on her dietary journey, Jessie explained, “I stopped being vegan during my first pregnancy, then resumed. During the second pregnancy, I avoided meat entirely but craved it while breastfeeding. Now, I want to embrace veganism again, without pressuring myself too much, aiming for a more relaxed approach.”
Recently, Jessie J shared a heartwarming moment on Instagram, celebrating Sonny’s first meeting with Santa at Lapland UK in Ascot, Berkshire during the Christmas season. Additionally, she disclosed her career shift, having departed from her record company to prioritize motherhood. Jessie parted ways with Republic Records on amicable terms, expressing gratitude for their support over 17 years. She plans to release new music independently in the near future.
In a candid video from September, she clarified her decision, stating, “After 17 years, I’ve decided to leave Republic Records. I made this choice when I was about six months pregnant. Monte and Avery Lipman, along with Jason Flomm, were gracious and understanding in supporting my decision. It’s been an incredible journey, but it didn’t align with my instincts or desires for years. So now, I’m embracing this change, and technically, I am currently without a record label.”
