“House of the Dragon” is returning with its highly anticipated second season.
During its CCXP23 panel in São Paulo, Brazil the HBO fantasy series a prequel to Game of Thrones treated fans to a teaser trailer that teases intense dragon warfare.
House of the Dragon Unleashes Intense Teaser for Season 2
The much-anticipated Season 2 trailer of “House of the Dragon” teases an intense conflict between House Targaryen and House Hightower. Following the dramatic Season 1 finale where Lucerys met his demise at the hands of Aemond’s dragon Vhagar, Rhaenyra is ignited with a determination to wage war against her half-brother, King Aegon.
Addressing the aftermath of King Viserys’ death Otto Hightower acknowledges errors in the handling of the situation. Alicent Hightower grimly predicts a war with high casualties, culminating in the rise of the ultimate victor to claim the throne.
Rhaenyra Targaryen reflects on the grim reality of a war between kin particularly one fueled by dragons emphasizing its gruesome and tragic nature.
Based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” the series chronicles House Targaryen’s history 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones.” Returning cast members include Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy and others, alongside new additions such as Clinton Liberty, Jamie Kenna, Kieran Bew and Simon Russell Beale.
“House of the Dragon” co-created and executive produced by R.R. Martin and showrunner Ryan Condal boasts an impressive lineup of executive producers. The forthcoming eight-episode second season is slated for a summer 2024 premiere on HBO and will be available for streaming on Max.
