Bushiroad & Eighting Team Up for ‘Hunter x Hunter’ Fighting Game Announcement
Publisher Bushiroad Games and developer Eighting have jointly announced the development of a new “Hunter x Hunter” fighting game.
The announcement took place at Jump Festa 2024, held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan.
Additional details regarding the game will be disclosed during Bushiroad New Year Presentation 2024 on January 6, 2024.
The collaboration between Bushiroad and Eighting, known for their work on “DNF Duel” aims to create a game based on Yoshihiro Togashi’s popular manga series.
Togashi started the “Hunter x Hunter” manga in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in 1998. The series has since spawned anime adaptations, movies original video animations, and stage plays.
The latest manga volume the 37th, was released by Shueisha in November 2022, marking the first volume in four years. Viz Media published the English version on October 3.
Togashi had completed chapter 401 of the manga in March, but no confirmation on the series’ return to serialization was provided.
The manga went on hiatus in January due to health issues with Shueisha deciding against the weekly serialization format. Details regarding the manga’s return and serialization format will be revealed by the editorial department once finalized.
